It's time to get this blog started so I guess the best thing to do is look at last year's decorations and see what can be done to improve them this year.
My mom grew up in the 40's so her taste in decor is decades away from mine. The more plastic the better for her. But she saved some of the old paper houses she had when she was a child and has collected a few more along the years. So we decided to get them out and find away to incorporate these cute houses into our Chrismas decor. Space is limited in her house for displays so we used the fireplace mantel. We hunted through cabinets to find just the right glass items to best show the houses off. It was a little tricky getting all of those houses and other stuff onto that narrow ledge without them falling off.
I thought the display needed some Christmas art so I found this print. However I haven't found a frame that quite fits within my budget. Maybe that's a quest for this year.
